Long Day Care (LDC) is provided for babies and children from birth to 4 years in the Dolphin and Rosella Rooms of the Prom Coast Centres for Children: Foster.
LDC can be used for morning sessions 7.30- 12.30, afternoon sessions (1.00 – 6pm) or full day sessions (7.30 – 6pm) according to families needs.
Children in our LDC program at the Centre in Foster are allocated by age to rooms for the middle hours of the day. During the early morning, late afternoon and at all times when outside children of all ages mix together. We believe that this arrangement allows the children to have opportunities for learning that reflect their family life as well as encourage their development.
On a daily basis age appropriate experiences are set up for the children that reflect their individual goals for learning as well as broad group goals. For our younger children we work with families to maintain home routines for, including sleep times, and transitions to eating for infants 4-12 months.
The programs are governed by the National Quality Framework and incorporate both the Early Years Learning Framework for Australia: Belonging, Being & Becoming and the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework.
